Foundations for Asians with acne.

I have a love hate relationship with foundations. I refuse to use anything but liquid. because poweder makes me look cakey or isn't enough coverage, and also makes my acne infested face look disastrous. here are a couple things i make sure i do before i put makeup on.

1) Wash my face

I use benzoyl peroxide, i've been on accutane but i started getting rashes on my body so i discontinued it. but i have tried every salicylic acid there is and it just doesn't do it for me.  I use a facewash called clean and clear 5% benzoyl peroxide. I've tried panoxyl and it ripped my face open. ask me if i've used any other acne wash and i have. although i'd like to try DDF it is sold at such a hefty price, I'd rather use that money on shoes. right ladies? :)

2) Toner

I was perusing through walmart's skincare isle and found this new product called dickinson's toner. it is so mild, it doesn't have that tingling mint feeling, but it is great because it locks the moisture in that was all dissipated from the clean and clear wash. and it's a great way to get rid of dead dirty skin cells, cotton ball proves it.

3) Topical Medication

next I use 10% benzoyl peroxide topical medication any brand from walmart, so far, my favorite is clearilsil ultra. I like the texture and how it vanishes. I just put it all over my face like lotion.

4) Moisturize!!!

my favorite part by far. i first moisturize my whole face with Clinique's dramatically different lotion for base and then my most delicious smelling cream called Chanel Hydra Beauty cream. it also comes in gel which is better for combination oily skin, but since i'm dry, i use the cream, for your information i have used the hydramax but i found it not to be as moisturizing as the hydra beauty, ironically the hydra max is directed for dry skin, but did nothing to me. the thing i love about hydra beauty is the way it smells. please go get yourself a sample because it is worth the $80 dollars.

5) foundation...

my least favorite routine of the day. immediately after moisturizing i squirt a pump or half a pump of Chanel Perfection Lumiere onto my finger and just put it all over my face like lotion, it doesn't blend well, and personally i really like revlon but the colors of revlon colorstay are so gray, it makes me look dead, but chanel has such beautiful supple yellow tones its hard to pass on it. i've hated chanel perfection lumiere because it just sticks to every dry flake i have on my face and makes me look very terrible, but i've found out that it works very well with hydra beauty. also, sometimes i use a sponge instead, and am currently debating wether or not to purchase the beauty blender sponge. but for now the #6 brush from chanel works well and so do my fingers. just make sure you have no clogged pores, use biore to strip all that shit off and then apply your foundation.
also, my second favorite foundaiton is Dior Airflash, it is like second skin going on your face, make sure you shake well and you are at least a hand length away from your face when spraying, otherwise it can look cakey also when it dries on your face.
I've tried, nars, am allergic, MAC and am allergic, i've tried revlong, maybelline, mouse, liquid, poweder and honestly the only reason i stuck by chanel was because of the price and also because of the smell. it has a very heavy floral scent that wakes me up in the mornings. it lasts pretty long, but does look ugly after running at the gym, my revlon had awsome staying power but like i said, i didn't want to look like a corpse and revlong has a lot of pink undertones, which me being asian makes me look like i'm mad. so tell me what you think.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: what is your favorite foundation and how much would you spend on foundation that makes you look immaculate?
